In for a bit of stick for his recent performances, that have not surprisingly, coincided with Liverpool's poor run of form of late. Proved today that he's still got it in him to produce the goods when it matters by shackling the Man U attackers again and again. 9/10

Special mention - Lucas

The focal point of Liverpool's critics this season, he became the focal point of Liverpool's link between defense and attack. Ran the show in the absence of Gerrard and showed that he is more than capable of filling in Alonso's shoes. If he can maintain playing this way for the rest of the season, an injury prone Aquilani might not be that much of a concern. 8/10

All in all, we've proved (yet again that) we can win games without Gerrard. It's just a matter of bringing in the right players in January to make up for the squad's lack of depth. No matter, shall cherish the moment.
